In this workshop we will focus on the following:
The first segment will illustrate two elemental tools for success all athletes can tap into: Flow State and Prehab. The remaining time will consist of an introductory vinyasa style flow, designed specifically to strengthen and mobilize participants’ body and mind, and cultivate our central themes.
Flow State: “An optimal state of being, both physical and mental, humans can operate in.” (How Yoga can help us get there)
Prehab: Analysis of individual biology, genetics, and biomechanics; and how to take a proactive approach towards preventing the breaking down of an athlete’s most important tool, his or her tangible self.
After nominations as a California All-State quarterback and shortstop during his senior year of high school, Darin enrolled at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His UMAss baseball career ended abruptly after suffering a severe knee injury the following year. Initially struggling to recuperate, both physically and mentally, Darin was first introduced to Yoga by the program’s sport psychologist. He now credits his Yoga practice as a guiding force in a continuing search for meaning and personal progress, and is committed to spreading Yoga’s expansive value throughout the athletic community.”
