Do you love backbends? Do you want to create a more flexible spine? Backbends are about strengthening the back of the body and stretching the front side of the body.

During this workshop you will learn the foundation for a safe and effective backbend practice. There are 4 main backbend positions: upright, inverted, prone and supine. We will use the Bheemashakti Yoga System to open and energize the body in preparation for beginner to advanced backbends.

What you will learn:
Concepts of kriya yoga (repetitive movements rather than static poses).
Kapalabhati Breathing.
Backbend exercises from an upright, inverted, prone and supine position.
How to work towards more advanced positions like: Kapotasana, Locust, Urdhva Dhanurasana, Dhanurasana and Vrschikasana.
How to counterbalance backbends to safely and effectively close out the back without injury.
