Learn To Teach Slow Flow Yoga

+ Intro To Teaching Prenatal Yoga with Magdalena Patterson

Buddhi University | Third Semester

with Amanda McCarroll, Jen Snyder and Jon Old-Rowe

Learn to teach slow flow yoga in our third semester of Buddhi University.  Teaching people who already practice yoga is much easier than teaching beginners or people with limited mobility.  At büddhi, we call our beginner classes Slow Flow Yoga.  There are several important components you will learn to make sure your classes are safe, approachable and enjoyable to a wide range of students.  The vast majority of yoga practitioners are beginners.  Learning to teach slow flow will expand your reach as a teacher and improve your teaching skills on all levels.

The last three hours of the training will be an introduction to teaching Prenatal Yoga.  Prenatal Yoga is similar to Slow Flow but with additional modifications and important points to understand.  Buddhi’s resident Prenatal Yoga Queen, Magdalena Patterson will be presenting.

February 10 & 11, March 17 & 18
Friday evenings 6-9pm
Saturdays 10-1 & 2-5pm (1 hour break for lunch)

Slow Flow Yoga Sequencing

Vinyasa Yoga

Sequencing is one of the most important parts of teaching a safe, approachable class.

  • Use our slow flow sequencing templates to create smooth-flowing, balanced classes
  • Create flows that are thoughtfully matched with the breath and modified for a wide range of students.
  • Learn transitions that are safe and simple but still fun, enjoyable and unique.
  • Discover which poses are best for this population of students and which postures to leave out.

Practice Teaching Exercises

  • Practice teaching in small groups to implement new techniques
  • Refine your cueing skills so that your students can understand your directions without having to look around the room.
  • Work on voice modulation so that you command the room with a calm yet strong confidence.

Slow Flow Yoga Finishing Touches

  • Discover what music works best in a slow flow class.
  • How conduct yourself like a professional
  • Managing interpersonal relationships with students and colleagues
